Decarboxylated carnosine (Carcinine), β-alanyl histamine, is an imidazole dipeptide composed of β-alanine and L-histamine. Decarboxylated carnosine was first discovered in crustaceans in 1975 and has subsequently been found in some mammalian hearts. This component is similar to carnosine in structure and has antioxidant and anti-glycation functions . Because it will not be recognized by enzymes in the body and lose activity, it has better stability.
